Teamplify + Jira

Connecting your Jira instance unlocks multiple Teamplify features, including Team Analytics, Team Workflows, Time Tracking, Smart Daily Standup, and 360° feedback.

Team Analytics

See how your team is working on Jira issues through the Team Analytics dashboard. You can explore multiple views, including the Team Calendar, Trends, Compare, and Collaboration Analysis.

Team Analytics data enhances Smart Daily Standups and 360° feedback sessions, providing greater visibility and helping reduce bias.

Team Workflows

Configure the Teamplify bot to monitor specific events that may require a manager’s attention. Here's an example:

  • Have a task in progress. The bot politely reminds your teammates to mark their current task as "in progress" in Jira if they haven’t done so yet. It can also check whether anyone has too many tasks in progress at the same time.

In addition to this one, Teamplify offers a variety of other workflows, such as Provide task updates, Push the code regularly (for developers), and others.

Team Workflows are integrated with Time Off, so the bot knows each teammate's schedule and won't disturb them during vacations or on national holidays.

Time Tracking + Smart Standup

Once you connect your Jira instance, you can immediately benefit from Effortless Time Tracking. This feature automatically logs time spent on each task by analyzing the task history and matching it with the work schedule.

It even works retroactively — if your team has been diligent about updating tasks in Jira, you’ll get fairly accurate time tracking reports for past months, even if you didn't track time explicitly.

In addition to Team Analytics, time tracking reports are also visible in Smart Daily Standup, showing each team member’s current task and the time spent on it.

360° Feedback Sessions

Teamplify's 360° feedback sessions become even more effective with Jira data. By analyzing collaboration patterns in Jira issues, Teamplify can provide more accurate automated suggestions for feedback peers.

When giving or receiving feedback, human input is shown side-by-side with Team Analytics reports, offering a more comprehensive view of performance and helping reduce bias. Connecting Jira not only enhances Team Analytics but also improves the quality and fairness of your 360° feedback sessions.

Jira Cloud or Data Center

Teamplify supports both Jira Cloud and Data Center instances, offering the full range of features for both.

Multiple task trackers

With any Teamplify plan, you can connect as many integrations as you need. If you use multiple Jira instances, or use Jira alongside other task tracking systems like Linear, Asana, Trello, or GitHub Issues, you can connect them all to Teamplify and access unified analytics across all data sources.

Data being analyzed

Teamplify collects the following data from Jira:

  • Issues: title, description, reporter, assignees, date, due date, status, type, priority, parent issue or epic, labels, comments, and full change history

How to connect Jira to Teamplify

  1. In your Teamplify workspace settings, go to Integrations and select the Jira integration. Here's a quick link:

    Jira Connect Jira

  2. Follow the instructions on the screen. You'll be redirected to Jira to authorize Teamplify to access your account.
  3. Teamplify will fetch the list of Projects from Jira and display it on the integration page. Select the projects you want to sync.
  4. Under Issue Statuses, specify which statuses represent In progress and Done. This step is essential for Team Workflows and Effortless Time Tracking to function correctly.
  5. Under Bugs, select the issue types or labels that indicate bugs. Team Analytics uses this information in some of its reports.
  6. On the Jira integration page, click Accounts and link your teammates' Jira accounts with their Teamplify profiles. This allows Teamplify to track their activity in Jira. Alternatively, each team member can configure this directly in their Teamplify profile.

Uninstall

To disconnect your Jira instance from Teamplify, go to your Teamplify workspace Settings > Integrations, select the Jira integration, and click Disconnect. All the data that Teamplify has collected from your Jira instance will be automatically deleted within 48 hours.
